The Annoying Dry Cough

Have you ever experienced a relentless dry cough? It’s that constant tickle or scratch in the back of your throat that won’t go away. You clear your throat. You try to expel whatever is causing the irritation to no avail. You take sips of water in a desperate attempt to end the incessant, and sometimes painful, cough.

Instead of reaching for the over-the-counter expectorant, cough suppressant or antihistamine, try fennel seeds. The remedy for a dry cough is a simple tea made by heating water to or just below boiling and steeping a tablespoon of fennel seeds until the tea reaches a desired drinking temperature.

If you fancy the taste of black licorice or love the aroma of anise essential oil, you will love fennel tea. Conversely, if the smell or taste of black licorice is a turn off, then hold your nose while you quickly consume your fennel seed tea. A little bit of raw honey goes a long way to make this treatment more palatable.

Before you doubt the effectiveness of this treatment, consider that it has been the ONLY remedy that eliminated dry cough for me and my “doubting” family. They all tried it with equally positive results. The fennel seed tea eliminated cough symptoms within 20 minutes and suppressed subsequent coughing for up to three hours.

If you’re “sick and tired” of that annoying dry cough and fed up with ineffective over-the-counter symptom relief, try a warm cup of fennel seed tea instead. You won’t regret it!
